These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, membership program, giveaways, cash hunts, and discount offers. By visiting thescoop.co.nz, joining The Scoop Squad, or participating in our promotions, you agree to these Terms.

The Scoop NZ Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) is based in Tauranga, New Zealand.

1. General Website Use

  • You agree to use our website for lawful purposes only.

  • You must not attempt to disrupt or interfere with our site, hack accounts, or misuse our services.

  • All content on thescoop.co.nz is owned or licensed by us. You may not copy, reproduce, or use it without our written permission.

  • We may update or change these Terms at any time. Continued use of our site means you accept the latest version.

2. Membership Terms (The Scoop Squad)

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old and a New Zealand resident to join The Scoop Squad.

  • Membership Tiers & Benefits: Your tier determines how many giveaway entries and clues you receive. Benefits may include discounts, exclusive events, and access to promotions.

  • Billing: Memberships are billed according to the plan you select. You authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until cancelled.

  • Cancellations: You may cancel at any time through your account. Cancellation stops future billing, and your access to benefits ends immediately upon cancellation.

Refunds & Cancellations

All Scoop Squad memberships are non-refundable once membership benefits have commenced, including the release of clues, access to discounts, or allocation of giveaway entries.
By purchasing, you acknowledge that your payment is for membership benefits, with giveaway entries provided as a bonus. If you cancel, your access to benefits ends immediately, and no refund will be issued, except where required under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ).

  • One Membership Per Person: Duplicate accounts may result in disqualification from giveaways and membership cancellation.

3. Giveaways & Promotions

This includes our flagship Scoop Squad $5,000 Giveaway and any future promotions.

Promotion Period: Each giveaway will have its own start and end date, announced on our website and social media.
Eligibility:

  • Open to NZ residents aged 18+ who hold an active membership during the promotion period.

  • Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of The Scoop NZ Limited are ineligible.
    Entries:

  • Membership tiers automatically earn entries:

    • Single Scoop – 5 entries

    • Double Scoop – 50 entries

    • Triple Scoop – 150 entries

    • Mega Scoop – 400 entries

  • Only one membership per person. Duplicate accounts may be removed.
    Prize:

  • Prize details will be stated for each promotion. For the $5,000 Giveaway, the prize is NZD $5,000 in tax-free cash, deposited to the winner’s nominated NZ bank account within 5 business days of verification.

  • No alternative prizes or substitutions.
    Draw & Notification:

  • Draws are random and conducted using a certified process at The Scoop HQ in Tauranga, NZ.

  • Winners will be contacted by phone/email and announced on our social media and website.

  • If a winner cannot be reached within 14 days, a redraw will occur.
    Publicity:

  • By entering, you agree to us using your name and image in promotional material without further payment.

  • This promotion is not sponsored or endorsed by Instagram, Facebook, or any other third party.

4. Cash Hunts & Events

  • You must follow all New Zealand laws during participation.

  • No trespassing, damaging property, or unsafe behaviour.

  • We reserve the right to disqualify anyone acting dangerously or against the spirit of the event.

  • Participation is at your own risk. We are not responsible for injury, loss, or damage arising from attendance.

5. Discounts & Partner Offers

  • Discounts are offered by partner businesses and may be changed or withdrawn at any time.

  • We are not responsible for the quality, availability, or delivery of partner goods/services.

  • Any disputes over a partner offer must be resolved directly with the business.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by NZ law:

  • We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from your participation in our promotions, use of our site, or reliance on partner offers.

  • We are not responsible for technical issues, system failures, or late/missing entries.

7. Privacy

  • We collect personal information to run our promotions, manage memberships, and improve our services.

  • Your data is handled in line with the NZ Privacy Act. We will never sell your information.
